The Client Partnerships & Growth team is dedicated to acquiring new cross-border advertisers, orchestrating seamless onboarding and account setups, and accelerating client scale through high-touch account services. This team plays a critical role in unlocking sustainable international market expansion into Japan, bridging regional nuances, and serving as the primary growth engine for our global advertising business.
About the Role
As a Senior Account Lead, you will strategically own key global advertiser relationships leveraging Yahoo! JAPAN and LINE Ads, and other channels. You will partner with multinational brands and agencies across the US, EMEA, and APAC expanding into Japan. This role combines senior client leadership with strategic campaign optimization, acting as a trusted advisor to marketing leaders to unlock sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, expand, and retain high-value relationships with global brands and performance advertisers entering or growing in Japan.
Develop and present data-driven, full funnel marketing and media plans tailored to client growth objectives, incorporating Japan market trends, audience insights, and strategic budget allocations across digital channels.
Own end-to-end campaign performance strategy across Yahoo! JAPAN Ads and LINE Ads, and other designated media platforms.
Analyze complex performance data to identify key growth drivers, enhance bidding strategies, and provide high-leverage optimization recommendations.
Lead executive client meetings, MBRs/QBRs, and planning sessions to identify pain points, growth opportunities, targets, and budget cycles.
Partner with business development teams to pitch prospects, craft winning proposals, deliver presentations, and facilitate seamless onboarding.
Leverage generative AI tools to streamline pitch decks, automate reporting summaries, and draft high-converting ad copy iterations.
Utilize AI-assisted analysis to rapidly synthesize complex performance metrics and uncover actionable optimization opportunities.
Requirements & Qualifications
Native Mandarin Chinese, fluent English, and business-proficient Japanese required.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
8+ years of digital advertising account management, media planning, or ad tech experience managing enterprise or global client portfolios.
Proven expertise in crafting comprehensive full-funnel media strategies and marketing plans, including audience segmentation, competitive/market analysis, and strategic budget forecasting.
Proven track record of hitting revenue targets, identifying up-sell/cross-sell opportunities, and leading MBRs/QBRs.
Experience managing performance and brand campaigns across major media platforms.
Familiarity with ad tech workflows, third-party tracking tools, and collaborating with technical/engineering teams.
Demonstrated experience or strong aptitude for incorporating modern generative AI tools into daily account management, deck design, and data workflows.
Exceptional stakeholder management, presentation, and negotiation skills with executive presence.
High autonomy, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to prioritize competing client deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
