We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Shanghai, China.
Job Purpose:
To be a customer insurance ambassador with a strong commercial bias within the country, managing robust data exchange as well as the commercial relationship and product development at country level, providing greater transparency and active risk management strategies to obtain required coverage for the operational business units and their customers. Participate in design and ensure implementation of action plans aligned with overall business objectives and needs, Group guidelines and policies.
Your tasks:

- Serve as a key and proactive member of DHL / GBS Global Insurance & Risk Management (IRM) team, interacting with colleagues to ensure business objectives are met and that the region is performing to “best in class” standards.
- Participate in design and ensure implementation of Customer Insurance plans and processes across geographic area assigned
- Provide input to develop and implement the appropriate mix of insurance and self-insurance
- Contribute in developing specifications for and evaluating bids for insurance broker and/or underwriting services
- Track insurance premiums are paid and claims are processed according to policy terms
- Develop and maintain understanding of the business, the customer, and their challenges to establish a clear vision for the customer insurance service provision, contributing to the success of the customer in meeting their commercial objectives.
- Control day to day insurance topics and claims related matters including the renewals process and report to the management.
- Maintain regular communication and negotiation of terms with the customer, responding to ad-hoc queries relating to coverage, documentation, invoicing, etc.
- Undertake detailed analysis of customer insurance sales in order to develop targeted marketing and training opportunities. This is to include sales channels, market segmentation, conveyance modes, trade lanes, etc., as appropriate.
- Create, maintain and distribute to all stakeholders management reports, detailing business partner engagement, key KPI’s and customer insurance revenue.
- Actively keep abreast of cargo insurance industry trends & contribute to setting GBS IRM customer insurance strategy relative to these trends.
- Contribute for business reviews with customers (business partners) and identify areas for process improvement and message / present potential solutions to Global Insurance Programme Management.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing consultation to support balance sheet protection and customer insurance growth, including appropriate sales and marketing initiatives mainly focusing on business units local senior management.
- Liaise with broader IRM team to promote improved cross function communication for better support of all service lines.
- Ensure periodic reviews of insurance programme loss data in order to identify trends and make risk management recommendations to customers (business partners) and IRM management are conducted.
- Manage staff and maintain professional relationships with other functional groups, as well as external partners/stakeholders
