The Lead Surgical/Sterile Processing Technician. Ensures proper operation of all sterilizer units through out Surgical Services prior to use on a daily basis. Responsible for running biological and chemical tests at beginning of the day and for recording results in appropriate log. Responsible for inspecting all equipment for viable signs of malfunction and reports to manager and/or Biomed. Processes or oversees all contaminated instruments and supplies returned to SPD.
