Registered Nurse or APRN with IBCLC will function under the Registered Nurse scope of practice and be accountable for planning, implementing, and evaluating direct care and staff education in support of lactating mother-infant dyads at CCMC. Primary area of responsibility is in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

The Registered Nurse – Lactation Consultant (RN, IBCLC) is a Connecticut-licensed Registered Nurse with current IBCLC certification who serves as the clinical expert in lactation, human milk feeding, and breastfeeding medicine. The RN-IBCLC provides comprehensive evidence-based lactation care for infants, children, and their lactating parents across Connecticut Children's inpatient settings. The role includes direct patient care, consultation, education, quality improvement, policy development, research, program development, and professional leadership while practicing within the RN scope of practice
