Under general supervision, the Painter II performs interior and exterior painting, to include preparing surfaces and affected areas.
Shift: 7am to 3:30pm
What Will I Be Doing:
- Completes work orders as assigned per safety requirements.
- Responsible for inventory, paint equipment, ordering, receiving, stocking and supply levels.
- Maintains ordering requests, monthly inventory, paint color cards and files.
- Completes daily inspection of assigned areas.
- Inspects areas for corrosion control and painting needs and repairs problems areas.
- Assists facilities team members in emergency situations.
- Prepares surfaces for painting by filling nail holes, patching cracks and joints with filler.
- Ensures smooth paintable surfaces by scraping, sanding, and removing loose paint.
- Selects premixed paints or mixes own paint.
- Paints with brushes, spray gun, or rollers.
- Stores paint and related chemicals in accordance with Company safety policy.
- Completes all required Company trainings and compliance courses as assigned.
- Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?
This position requires the capability to understand and follow both oral and written directions as well as knowledge and usage of correct business English and office practices. Must be able to communicate effectively with others, analyze and resolve problems, maintain effective working relationships, and interact successfully with internal and external customers.
Specific skills and abilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in professional painting or related experience required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes.
- Recognizes an emergency situation and takes appropriate action.
- Able to establish and maintain a cooperative working relation.
- Able to use sound judgment; work independently, with minimal supervision.
Compensation: 17.50 per hour
