ASSISTANT STOREKEEPER

Job Summary: The assistant storekeeper's primary function is to provide support to the storekeeper to manage the storeroom inventories effectively to ensure maximum profitability for the organisation. Inventories form a part of the company's current asset, which basically means this can easily be turned into cash if the need arises, by virtue of this, the need for proper control becomes critical. He/She will assume full responsibility for the storerooms in the absence of the storekeeper.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring all hazard analysis critical control practice (H.A.C.C.P) and Ministry of Health requirements are adhered to by all storeroom staff
Being critical of inventory levels, short-list items that are running low and notifying purchasing so these can be sourced
Spot checking inventory items and reconcile with perpetual inventory system
Ensuring storeroom is cleaned and sanitized daily
Ensuring all shelves are packed out; a visual knowledge is always an advantage
Ensuring First in First out (FIFO) method is strictly adhered to
Ensuring all fruit and vegetable delivery is labeled as to which supplier thus enabling the easy identification, if a problem should arise

Qualifications:

Computer Literate - solid knowledge of spreadsheet applications
Certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management or related discipline is an asset
Four (4) CXC/G.C.E. O'Levels including Mathematics and or Accounts, English Language and Principles of Business
