About the Role

HP is seeking a highly accomplished marketing leader to serve as Head of Marketing, Japan, responsible for leading the company's marketing strategy, growth agenda, and brand presence in one of its most strategic markets.

As the senior marketing executive for Japan, this role sits on the country leadership team and plays a critical role in shaping business strategy, accelerating growth, enhancing customer engagement, and strengthening HP's market leadership. The Head of Marketing will lead a multifunctional marketing organization and partner closely with sales, category, channel, services, and regional leaders to drive measurable business outcomes across commercial and consumer segments.

This position requires a visionary yet commercially grounded leader with a proven track record of delivering growth, leading transformation, and building high-performing teams within a complex, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead HP's Marketing Strategy in Japan

• Define and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy aligned with business growth priorities.
• Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive trends to inform strategic decision-making.
• Shape the annual marketing operating plan, investment strategy, and performance objectives.
• Serve as the primary marketing advisor to country leadership.

Drive Growth and Commercial Impact

• Lead integrated marketing initiatives that accelerate revenue growth, pipeline generation, customer acquisition, and market share.
• Ensure marketing investments are aligned to priority business outcomes and deliver measurable return.
• Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks to continuously optimize effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with sales leadership to drive alignment between marketing strategy and business results.

Strengthen Brand Leadership and Customer Engagement

• Elevate HP's brand reputation and market presence across Japan.
• Oversee brand, communications, customer engagement and thought leadership initiatives.
• Ensure a consistent and differentiated customer experience across all touchpoints.
• Strengthen relationships with customers, partners, industry influencers, and external stakeholders.

Lead Go-to-Market Excellence

• Partner with business and category leaders to develop compelling go-to-market strategies across product, services, and solutions portfolios.
• Drive successful new product introductions and growth initiatives.
• Champion customer-centric planning and execution across target segments and audiences.

Build Strategic Partnerships and Ecosystems

• Collaborate with channel, alliance, and partner organizations to accelerate demand creation and business growth.
• Foster strong relationships across industry ecosystems to expand reach and influence.
• Represent HP externally with key customers, partners, media, and industry organizations.

Develop a High-Performing Organization

• Lead, inspire, and develop a diverse team of marketing professionals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and inclusion.
• Build future-ready marketing capabilities and data-driven marketing.

Qualifications

Experience

• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, business leadership, or commercial management.
• Proven success leading large-scale marketing organizations and driving business growth.
• Demonstrated track record of influencing senior executives and leading cross-functional transformation.
• Experience operating within a global, matrixed environment.
• Strong understanding of both brand building and demand generation disciplines.

Preferred Background

• Technology, digital, consumer electronics, or related industry experience.
• Experience leading both B2B and B2C marketing functions.
• Deep understanding of the Japanese market, customer landscape, and partner ecosystem.
• MBA or advanced business qualification preferred.
