Job Description
School Bus Driver – Alexandria International School
The School Bus Driver ensures the safe, punctual, and responsible transport of students to and from school, field trips, and other school-related activities. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and respectful interaction with students and families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide safe and timely transportation for students, following scheduled routes and school timetables.
Ensure full compliance with road safety laws, transportation regulations, and school policies.
Supervise student behavior on the bus, ensuring a calm and respectful environment during travel.
Perform routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety and proper functioning.
Maintain cleanliness, order, and basic upkeep of the bus.
Report any mechanical issues, delays, or incidents promptly to the school office.
Assist younger students with boarding and exiting the bus when needed.
Support school events requiring transport (e.g., educational visits, sports events).
Maintain accurate logs and adhere to any reporting or record-keeping procedures required by the school or authorities.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong driving and safety awareness skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Reliability, punctuality, and a calm demeanor.
Ability to manage and interact positively with children of various ages.
Good knowledge of road conditions and safety protocols.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of documented experience as a professional bus driver.
Valid Category D driving license (required for operating buses) and Category B license (standard vehicles).
Clean driving record and no history of serious traffic violations.
Ability to pass background checks, including criminal records and health assessments.
