Position Summary

Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Dietitian to provide medical nutrition therapy to children with genetic conditions and who are medically complex. In this rewarding full-time role, you will become an indispensable member of multidisciplinary care teams caring for children from birth through age 18. Core Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Care Planning

Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments.
Calculate precise pediatric nutrient requirements.
Formulate evidence-based nutrition care plans.
Implement tailored metabolic interventions.
Maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.

Patient Counseling & Education

Counsel caregivers on modified diets.
Instruct families on specialized formulas.
Assess caregiver comprehension and compliance.
Log detailed patient education metrics.

Case Evaluation & Continuity

Monitor care plan clinical efficacy.
Evaluate therapeutic goal progress.
Deliver ordered follow-up care.

Collaboration & Professional Development

Participate in patient care conferences.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary medical teams.
Review current metabolic genetic and nutrition support literature.
Complete targeted continuing education activities.
Maintain Commission on Dietetic Registration portfolio.

Requirements

Must have completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree at a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and course work accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).Must have completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration and licensure. Master’s Degree in Nutrition related field preferred.
Must obtain RD certificate within 90 days of hire by passing the national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). Obtain Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status through the Delaware Department of State: Division of Professional Regulation within 6 months of hire. Additional state Licensure in Pennsylvania, Maryland, or New Jersey may be required, based on the position. Additional specialty certification preferred (CDE, CNSC and or CSP).
Hospital experience preferred; at least 2 years pediatric experience preferred.
