The Forensic Mental Health Clinician/Court Evaluator is responsible for capturing the crossover between mental health treatment, civil legal matters, and the regulation of involuntary mental health treatment. Court Evaluators provide forensic expertise regarding mental health treatment encompassing understanding and appraisal of mental health laws and their impact on the delivery of care to persons with mental illnesses. Court Evaluators receive specialized training in the procedures and processes of the legal system and in the administration of mental health services for individuals deemed to be a danger to self, danger to others and/or gravely disability.
