The ICU Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and ensures high‑quality, safe patient care within the Intensive Care Unit. This role involves supervising the nursing team during each shift, coordinating patient care activities, and maintaining adherence to clinical standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
The Charge Nurse provides collaborative patient care across all ages and conditions while promoting health, preventing illness, and supporting patients who are ill, disabled, or at end of life. The role includes advocating for patient safety, supporting clinical practice, contributing to unit operations, and participating in education and quality initiatives. The Charge Nurse also offers professional leadership by supervising the patient care team and ensuring clinical standards and quality of care are maintained during each shift
