Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Naples, Florida has an opportunity for a Civil Engineer Intern to join our Infrastructure team.
We are seeking a candidate with experience in professional practice and design related to land development/community development. This position will be involved with significant projects, interact with clients and government agencies and effectively working with a team.
Responsibilities include design and preparation of site, grading, drainage, erosion control and utility plans as well as design reports. Your Key Responsibilities
- Supports project team in development of design documentation, plans, and reports for relevant project design elements.
- Prepares and revises documentation required for land development permitting through local, state and federal jurisdictions.
- Performs quality reviews for documents in various project phases including construction plans, reviewing agency submittal packages, and engineering calculation reports.
- Assist in preparing engineering calculation reports including but not limited to: stormwater design, potable water design, sanitary sewer design, and roadway design.
- Attends project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
- Takes sufficient notes at all meetings in order to organize efforts and follow through with requested deliverables
- Coordinates and keeps consistent communication with other disciplines to ensure entire design team has same design intent and is on schedule
- Prepares and coordinates submittals to permitting entities
- Assists in the review of shop drawings and submittals, responds to request for information, prepares site observation reports, and performs other construction administration tasks.
- Assists in the evaluation and selection of civil systems and materials.
- Participates in value engineering and basic cost estimating.
- Performs calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Ready to step in and assist with any of design teams tasks in order to complete project on time and with quality design.
