Stantec is seeking a Fire Protection Designer to join our Buildings Engineering team. This role is ideal for a motivated designer with experience preparing fire protection design documents and coordinating building systems within a multidisciplinary project environment.
The Fire Protection Designer will support the development of fire alarm, fire suppression, and special hazard system designs under limited supervision. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of project types while continuing to grow technical design, code coordination, and project delivery skills.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Design fire alarm, fire suppression, and special hazard systems.
- Review and develop fire alarm and fire protection system plans.
- Support life safety and building code consulting efforts.
- Collaborate with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines.
- Develop site fire protection features and fire department access plans.
- Communicate with clients and write technical reports.
- Under limited supervision, coordinate and prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Assist in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems.
- Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents and ensure integrated design approaches and solutions.
