Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and document all observations and interventions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including doctors, specialists, and other allied health professionals, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and well-being.
- Respond to medical emergencies and critical situations, initiating appropriate interventions and providing life support as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control protocols and health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives to stay updated with best practices and advancements in nursing.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights are respected and their needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Accurately maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.

Job Qualifications
- A Diploma or Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of 2 years of post-basic experience in a general hospital setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a demanding environment.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems and basic computer applications.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- BLS/ACLS certification is highly advantageous.
