Senior Assistant Vice President for Technology

The Department of Information Services at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Assistant Vice President. The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for providing executive leadership and management, establish best practice technical guidelines for the IT functional units.
- Direct the development of the network/telecom infrastructure and operations strategy and provides executive participation in strategic partner relationship management.
- Commit to growing and transforming the workforce culture, applies their experience in developing new capabilities, while serving as an effective coach and developer of talent.
- Provide overall leadership, direction, and project management to ensure cost-effective design, development, engineering, integration, implementation, testing, and maintenance of new infrastructure computing architecture systems in support of business objectives and requirements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve quality, efficiency and standards across IT infrastructure and services.
- Develop engineering/technical strategy, associated KPI dashboards, and continuously improve methods, systems, and processes in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction and ensure continuous process improvement for the SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
- Ensure the system is built for disaster situations at an acceptable cost.
- Implement and oversee the change/release control management process to ensure the integrity of IT Service delivery and business continuity campus-wide.
- Work closely with the Information Security Officer on the protection of data across our enterprise.
- Oversee the integration strategy and direction while working closely with BioMed on the medical device integration with the infrastructure to allow for streamlined, efficient patient care.
