Main Duties and Responsibilities Teaching, Learning and Assessment- Develop, prepare, and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment activities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Undertake module leadership responsibilities where appropriate.
- Design engaging learning experiences that promote creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional practice.
- Integrate contemporary developments in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Web Design, App Design, Digital Media, and Creative Technologies into teaching.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, learning technologies, and assessment strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement.
- Ensure teaching is informed by current research, professional practice, and industry developments.
- Contribute to the design, review, and enhancement of curriculum content to ensure academic quality, relevance, and industry alignment.
- Support the development of international and intercultural learning experiences.
- Act as a personal tutor and provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students.
- Contribute to student recruitment, retention, employability initiatives, exhibitions, competitions, and industry-facing projects.
- Support students in developing professional portfolios and preparing for careers within the creative industries.
- Engage actively in quality assurance, quality enhancement, and continuous improvement activities.
- Reflect critically on teaching practice and implement improvements based on student feedback, peer review, and emerging pedagogic approaches.
- Maintain professional and subject expertise through continuous professional development.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, professional bodies, and external organizations in Egypt and internationally.
- Contribute to live projects, industry collaborations, internships, guest lectures, and knowledge-exchange activities.
- Support initiatives that enhance graduate employability and strengthen links between academia and industry.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the School and University.
- Contribute to committees, working groups, curriculum development initiatives, and academic administration.
- Mentor and support colleagues where appropriate and contribute positively to the academic community.
At a later stage, the role holder will be expected to contribute to the University's research and enterprise agenda through:
- Participating in applied research groups and communities of practice.
- Contributing to externally funded projects, consultancy activities, and knowledge-transfer initiatives.
- Assisting with grant applications, bids, and funding proposals.
- Disseminating research and professional outputs through publications, exhibitions, conferences, presentations, workshops, and digital platforms.
- Developing national and international research networks and collaborations.
- Supervising student research projects and, where appropriate, postgraduate research students.
- Supporting income-generation activities that contribute to the growth and reputation of the School.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade, responsibilities, and purpose of the role as reasonably required by the University.
