Senior Project Engineer, Energy Storage Advisory

As a member of UL Solutions’ Energy Storage Advisory team within the North American Renewables business, the Senior Project Engineer provides technical and commercial due-diligence support for Independent Engineering (IE) and Technical Advisory (TA) projects across energy storage, solar + storage, and hybrid renewable portfolios.
This position supports project financing, tax equity, sales, and acquisition transactions by evaluating project contracts, financial models, technical designs, and documentation to assess risk, performance, and bankability. The Senior Project Engineer integrates input from multidisciplinary teams to deliver consistent, high-quality advisory reports for clients that include lenders, developers, and investors.
The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with commercial awareness and communication skills. They are capable of engaging directly with clients, guiding internal contributors, and helping shape UL’s technical advisory practice through mentorship, thought leadership, and business development participation.
This role can be hybrid from Latham, NY, Houston, TX, Northbrook, IL, Oakland, CA, or remote in the United States.
