POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is part of Alcon's Sales & Sales Support function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels in an effort to drive customer satisfaction with eye care professionals to help people see brilliantly.
The Manager, Vision Care Account Management (Management Path) is primarily responsible for planning and executing sales activities and promotions with key pharmacy customers to drive growth in the Vision Care business. You will develop tactical sales plans, lead execution, track progress, and achieve sales targets across product lines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the commercial manager, to lead nationwide sales team members in selling a range of designated products to achieve sales targets (Malaysia Contact lens and Contact lens care)
Build the sales strategy and tactical plan to implement at pharmacy chain and optical channels. Allocate resource accordingly, ensure accurate forecasts and adapts plan when needed, meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales target.
Provide leadership through effective communication of vision. Manage, coach, develop sales team (consisted of 6 Independent optical reps and 3 key account reps) , and lead multifunctional teamwork between sales teams and other cross-functional team. Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals.
Manage business partners, customers and/or distributors to achieve shared KPIs including sales target, inventory and spending
Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization. Provide sales management, budget control and incentive planning.
Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales team.
Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments (Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities. Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies.
Maintain and build partnership with key strategic customers and KOL, understand sales force, manage forecast and channel’s need to increase business growth opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
EDUCATION
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical or related
Preferred: MBA
EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 5 years’ experience in sales supervision position in Pharmaceutical Industry or FMCG field
Preferred: 3 years’ experience in trade marketing or FMCG field
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Strong managerial abilities that include negotiating skills and communication
Solid leadership profile, strong sales success and result-oriented
Excellent interpersonal skills, positive and be able to motivate people
Strategy development, project management, problem solving, analytical and change management skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Experience managing key accounts across modern trade, trade marketing
Good analytical skill
Clear progression of career growth in past experience
Experience and success in recruiting and retaining a high performance sales team and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse sales team. Demonstrated ability to professionally develop and coach team members.
Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally.
Business related computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
