Your opportunity
Lead the OTC Derivatives team responsible for the accurate, timely and controlled post-trade support of OTC derivatives, including Trade Capture & Affirmation, Settlement & Cashflows, Collateral & Margin. This is a hands-on operational leadership role for someone who understands how derivatives work in practice across their full lifecycle and can combine technical credibility with strong people leadership.
You will own the team’s service delivery and control environment, act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-risk issues, and work closely with investment teams, Trading, Risk, Compliance, Technology, brokers, custodians, counterparties and third-party administrators. You will also help shape a scalable operating model through process improvement, automation, new-product readiness and the development of a capable, collaborative team.
You will:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of OTC Derivatives professionals, ensuring effective coverage, strong technical capability, clear accountability and consistently high operational standards.
- Own and oversee the post-trade operating model for OTC derivatives, including trade capture and verification, affirmation and confirmation, settlement and cashflows, collateral and margin, reconciliations and lifecycle event processing.
- Ensure accurate and timely resolution of trade, position, cash, collateral, valuation and lifecycle breaks, with clear prioritisation and escalation of high-risk or time-critical issues.
- Act as a senior operational point of contact and escalation for Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Technology, brokers, custodians, counterparties, valuation agents, fund administrators and other service providers.
- Maintain a robust control environment across daily processing, reconciliations, exception management, data quality, procedures, governance and regulatory obligations.
- Support operational readiness for new derivatives products, markets, strategies, counterparties and system changes, coordinating analysis, testing, booking-model validation, lifecycle readiness and implementation.
- Identify and deliver improvements to workflows, controls and management information, including automation and straight-through-processing opportunities that reduce manual intervention and strengthen scalability.
- Partner with Middle Office Leadership and colleagues across Global Operations to evolve the target operating model, improve service delivery and support strategic initiatives.
- Represent the OTC Derivatives Operations function in audits, regulatory reviews, control testing and governance forums, and ensure operating procedures remain accurate and current.
- Build a collaborative, client-focused and high-performing team culture that encourages ownership, sound judgement, continuous learning and constructive challenge.
