Sales Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:
As a member of the Sales Department, the Sales Engineer will support the Area Sales Manager (ASM) in managing and developing assigned territories and customers. The role focuses on day-to-day sales support activities, opportunity tracking, customer engagement, technical and commercial coordination, pipeline management, and business development activities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Sales & Opportunity Management:
- Ensure the execution of sales strategy and targets achievement in allocated markets, segments and customer accounts.
- Manage sales expansion plans across assigned accounts, segments and markets to sell Lucy Electric full portfolio.
- Develop annual sales plans in line with growth ambition and implement business-driven actions accordingly.
- Identify and attract new potential customers.
- Generate solid sales pipeline with high information quality and balanced nature to deliver budget commitment.
- Identify partnership opportunities and participate in the definition of partnership agreements
- Monitor market intelligence platforms (e.g. MEED) and other available sources to identify new projects and business opportunities. Follow-up with customers on potential enquiries and tenders to ensure active participation in new opportunities
- Conduct 7-8 customer visits per week, product presentations, introductory meetings, and cold-calling activities to support business growth under the guidance of the Area Sales Manager.
- Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, utilities, distributors, EPC contractors, and end users.
- Coordinate with Tendering, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure timely preparation of quotations and tender submissions.
- Support customers with technical clarifications and documentation requirements throughout the bidding process in coordination with the tendering team and strive to respond to customers in a timely manner.
- Follow up submitted quotations with customers and maintain regular communication on opportunity status to maximize our success chances and improve our hit rate.
- Support the ASM in achieving territory order intake targets through effective opportunity management, customer support, and sales coordination activities.
- Support the ASM in day-to-day customer interactions and sales coordination activities.
Order Handover & Project Support:
- Handover purchase orders along with supporting documents to the Operations team in a timely manner. Support the Operations team in obtaining the manufacturing clearance when required.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer meetings whenever required.
Reporting & Administration
- Ensure CRM and pipeline information is maintained accurately, completely, and on time.
- Prepare periodic sales activity reports, opportunity updates, and market intelligence reports as required by management.
- Maintain customer records, project databases, and sales documentation in accordance with company requirements.
JOB CONTEXT:
The Sales Engineer will be based in Dubai.
He will support the Area Sales Manager in managing customer relationships and business development activities across designated territories.
He will ensure continuity of customer support and territory coverage during periods of ASM travel, leave, or peak workload.
He will proactively identify new customers, consultants, contractors, and project opportunities within assigned territories.
He will promote Lucy Electric products and solutions including primary switchgear, RMUs, overhead line equipment, Digital Solutions, and emerging technologies including SF6-free solutions.
He will assist in prequalifying Lucy Electric portfolio with new customers and renew expired prequalifications.
He will attend Exhibitions and Sales Promotions on behalf of the Company, which could be inside or outside of the U.A.E.
He will attend tender openings when required.
He will undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Sales & Marketing Department.
He will work with the broad team in other departments in the identification of proper and correct materials, part assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job/task to coordinate and drive business success.
To be ready to travel as per business requirements which may incur overnight stays outside the U.A.E.
He will comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of information relating to the company’s business and staff.
He will adhere to the established safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedure
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge:-
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Arabic language skills preferred.
- Valid UAE driving license
Minimum Experience:
3-5 years of experience in medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment sales, sales support, tendering, application engineering, or sales engineering.
Experience dealing with utilities, contractors, consultants, EPC contractors, and industrial customers is preferred.
