Are you an experienced lightning protection specialist looking to make a real impact on the future of the industry? Do you want to share your expertise and help shape the next generation of lightning protection professionals?
CITB is looking for a Lecturer in Lightning Protection to join our dedicated training team at Bircham Newton.
Location: National Construction College East, Bircham Newton, Norfolk (site-based) with occasional overnight stays throughout the UK
Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent
Grade: SC4
Target Salary: £53,303 per annum
Additional Benefits: Car Allowance £6,799 and a relocation package up to £8k, subject to eligibility criteria
Special Requirements: The post holder will be eligible for either a company car or a car allowance in line with the grade for this role, subject to the vehicle nominated for business use complying with CITB’s Car Policy.
About the Role
As a Lecturer, you will use your specialist knowledge of lightning protection to deliver high‑quality vocational training that meets industry standards and aligns with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF). You’ll support instructors, mentor assessors, and ensure learners develop the exact skills, behaviours, and technical understanding required in this niche but critical safety field.
This role is specifically for experts in lightning protection systems — not general commercial electricians. We’re seeking someone with deep, practical knowledge of lightning protection installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance, who can bring real-world expertise into the classroom and workshop.
CITB aims to lead the construction sector by example to ensure fairness, inclusion and respect for all. We seek to build a workforce that reflects Britain’s diverse population and people from under-represented groups are encouraged to apply for vacancies.
