Job Summary
The marketing & communications executive is responsible for developing and executing the hotel’s social media and digital content strategy across relevant platforms. The role combines social media management, content creation, photography, videography, Reels production, community engagement, and performance analysis to strengthen the hotel’s online presence, showcase its facilities and food & beverage offerings, engage target audiences, and support overall brand and commercial objectives.
The position requires a creative and proactive individual with strong visual storytelling skills, excellent communication abilities, and a good understanding of social media trends, digital marketing, photography, and video production.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Develop and execute the hotel’s social media strategy based on competitive research, audience insights, platform trends, benchmarking, and brand objectives.
- Identify target audiences, key messaging, content themes, and opportunities to increase engagement and brand visibility.
- Manage the hotel’s presence across relevant social media platforms, ensuring profiles and pages are regularly updated, optimized, and aligned with brand standards.
- Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content, including photography, graphics, videos, Reels, and other digital formats.
- Coordinate with the social media agency about the editorial calendars and detailed content and syndication schedules to ensure consistent and timely communication across platforms.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, formats, features, and best practices, identifying opportunities to enhance the hotel’s digital presence.
Photography & Visual Content Creation
- Plan, photograph, and produce high-quality visual content showcasing the hotel’s food & beverage offerings, restaurants, bars, facilities, rooms, public areas, amenities, events, promotions, and guest experiences.
- Ensure food and beverage photography is visually appealing and effectively communicates the quality, presentation, and overall experience of the hotel’s culinary offerings.
- Capture lifestyle and experiential photography that reflects the hotel’s brand identity, atmosphere, and guest experience.
- Coordinate with food & beverage, conferences & events, and other hotel departments to identify and plan photography and content opportunities.
- Maintain an organized digital library of photographs, video footage, graphics, and other marketing assets.
Reels & Video Content
- Conceptualize, film, edit, and publish engaging Reels and short-form video content for social media platforms.
- Develop creative video concepts highlighting food & beverage outlets, dishes, drinks, hotel facilities, services, events, promotions, behind-the-scenes activities, and guest experiences.
- Edit video content using appropriate editing applications, incorporating music, transitions, captions, graphics, and other relevant elements.
- Adapt video content to suit different social media platforms, formats, audiences, and trends.
- Proactively identify opportunities for creative and engaging video content throughout the hotel.
Community Management & Reputation
- Monitor and moderate user-generated content in accordance with the hotel’s social media and community management policies.
- Respond to comments, messages, reviews, and other social interactions in a timely, professional, and brand-appropriate manner.
- Identify potential reputation management issues and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure appropriate and timely responses.
- Identify key influencers, content creators, guests, and other relevant stakeholders and support opportunities for engagement and collaboration.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and analyze social media performance using relevant analytics and reporting tools.
- Track key performance indicators, including reach, engagement, audience growth, content performance, video views, and other relevant metrics.
- Prepare regular reports and provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve content performance and audience engagement.
- Continuously test new content formats, creative approaches, platforms, and trends to improve the hotel’s digital performance.
- Benchmark the hotel’s social media performance against relevant competitors and industry best practices.
Internal Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Food & Beverage, Rooms, Events, Sales, and other hotel departments to coordinate content and communication activities.
- Support hotel campaigns, promotions, events, activations, and special occasions through creative digital content.
- Ensure all content consistently reflects the hotel’s brand positioning, visual identity, tone of voice, and quality standards.
- Work proactively with internal teams to identify stories, experiences, and opportunities that can be transformed into compelling social media content.
- Work closely with social media agency of the hotel.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or a related role, preferably within the hospitality, hotel, tourism, or lifestyle industry.
- Demonstrable experience managing social media platforms and using social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Strong photography skills, with the ability to professionally photograph food & beverage offerings, hotel facilities, rooms, events, and lifestyle experiences.
- Strong videography and short-form video production skills, including the ability to create, film, edit, and publish engaging Reels.
- Good knowledge of graphic design and the ability to create and edit visually appealing graphics and digital content for social media.
- Proficiency in relevant photography, graphic design, and video editing applications.
- Strong understanding of social media trends, content formats, audience engagement, and digital marketing best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling and copywriting abilities.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
- Creative, innovative, and highly attentive to visual detail and brand presentation.
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with multiple departments and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to identify opportunities without requiring constant direction.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal stakeholders, external partners, guests, and customers.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work around hotel operations, events, activations, and content opportunities, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays when required.
