OpenStack Cloud Engineer Consultant for SSC

49 Solutions is seeking an experienced OpenStack Cloud Engineer to support an opportunity with Shared Services Canada (SSC).
The successful resource will provide technical and architectural expertise related to the deployment and implementation of OpenStack solutions. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on OpenStack experience who is comfortable supporting large-scale environments, resolving technical challenges, and providing guidance throughout solution deployment.
Requirements
All Applicants will need to verify the following experience:
- Large-scale OpenStack deployment, including hands-on experience deploying OpenStack within a large environment.
- OpenStack solution deployment and implementation, with the ability to support the team in deploying and building functionality within the environment.
- OpenStack operations and support, including experience performing regular technical tasks within complex OpenStack environments.
- End-to-end OpenStack troubleshooting, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues across the OpenStack technology stack.
- OpenStack scheduling troubleshooting, including an understanding of the scheduling flow and experience troubleshooting NoValidHost failures.
- OpenStack architecture and technical guidance, with experience providing guidance related to:
- Multi-tenant OpenStack architecture
- Network segmentation
- Provider-network design
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Tenant isolation
- Workload connectivity
- Operational procedures
- OpenStack networking, including experience with networking configurations and connectivity within an OpenStack environment.
- Hardware bootstrapping, including experience with the hardware bootstrapping process and resolving associated challenges.
- OpenStack storage concepts and services, with knowledge or experience related to Ceph, Swift, Glance, and Cinder.
Ideal Experience
We are particularly interested in professionals with experience in:
- OpenStack cloud environments.
- Large-scale OpenStack deployments.
- OpenStack architecture and solution design.
- Deployment, configuration, and implementation of OpenStack solutions.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex OpenStack technical issues.
- Providing technical or architectural guidance to project and technical teams.
- Enterprise-scale cloud or infrastructure environments.
