Job Description
As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will work closely with the Executive Housekeeper to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Housekeeping Department, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, guest care and service.
- Assist with the daily checking of bedrooms, staff areas and public areas to maintain required standards.
- Review and approve daily timesheets, ensuring hours worked are accurate and submitted correctly.
- Assist with the preparation and management of departmental rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels, productivity and guest service while maintaining wage costs.
- Coordinate daily room allocations and housekeeping duties to ensure efficient workflow and rooms are serviced within required timeframes.
- Support the training, development and induction of Housekeeping team members, ensuring staff understand departmental procedures and service expectations.
- Assist with the preparation, implementation and ongoing review of departmental processes and procedures.
- Ensure the security of guest rooms and keys.
- Ensure the safe storage and effective use of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Assist with the effective running of the laundry and linen operation, including inventories.
- Ensure the correct handling of guest laundry and lost property.
- Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance regarding room readiness, room status and guest requirements.
- Respond to special guest requests with a sense of urgency.
- Ensure VIP rooms have the correct amenities as requested by Front Office.
- Ensure housekeeping storerooms are adequately stocked.
- Delegate duties and coordinate the team to ensure all shift responsibilities are covered.
- Conduct regular team briefings and ensure relevant operational information is communicated effectively.
- Lead by example and support the Executive Housekeeper in maintaining positive staff morale and a strong team environment.
- Complete all duties and provide a clear handover to the Duty Manager.
- Follow Accor Brand Standards, departmental procedures and company policies.
- Support and participate in all Health & Safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Provide friendly and professional service to all guests and colleagues.
- Contribute to cost control through the correct use and storage of materials and equipment.
- Attend training and meetings as required and carry out any other reasonable duties requested by Management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Housekeeping environment.
- Experience supervising and supporting a team.
- Ability to maintain the required standards of cleanliness and guest care.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to delegate duties and ensure all shift responsibilities are covered.
- Ability to train, induct and support staff in accordance with Brand and Service Standards.
- Knowledge of laundry operations, linen control, guest laundry and lost property procedures.
- Knowledge of the safe storage and effective use of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including fire and evacuation procedures.
- Ability to provide efficient, friendly and professional service to guests and colleagues.
- Ability to follow Accor Brand Standards, departmental procedures and company policies.
