Why this role matters
At Hoxhunt, we transform human behavior into a powerful layer of cyber defense. We are looking for our first Solution Engineer in APAC to be the technical backbone of our regional customer journey. Being the "first boots on the ground" in Singapore, you will lead the technical charge in moving our APAC operations closer to our customers. You will operate across the entire customer lifecycle—from technical discovery and POCs to implementation, adoption, and expansion—ensuring successful conversions and long-term technical success for our enterprise customers.
What you'll own and drive
Own the technical customer lifecycle: drive technical discovery, lead evaluations and POCs, and help drive technically complex implementation projects together with the onboarding team
Build and test customer integrations using the Hoxhunt GraphQL API to connect with SIEM/SOAR/ITSM platforms (Sentinel, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc.), webhooks, and reporting.
In complex cases, setting up and troubleshooting simulation deliverability by managing allowlisting, header analysis, quarantine, and gateway bypass rules (M365, Google Workspace, Proofpoint, Mimecast).
Lead architecture, security, and permission reviews with customer stakeholders—including SOC teams, IT, and security leadership—acting as their trusted technical advisor.
Reproduce customer-reported issues, perform root cause analysis independently, write clear bug reports with impact analysis, and hand off to the relevant development teams.
Support renewals, help mitigate churn risk, and assist with upsell opportunities by providing advanced technical solutions as the APAC customer base grows.
Complete security questionnaires, RFPs, and vendor assessments in partnership with our sales and compliance teams.
Participate in customer kickoffs, check-ins, and ongoing technical engagement throughout the full post-sales lifecycle.
What success looks like
In your first 3 months you'll: Build foundational knowledge of our products and the cybersecurity landscape, meet the global team, develop fluency in customer interactions from an SE perspective, and confidently guide customers through POC cycles and technical validations.
By month 6 you'll: Autonomously own complex technical customer engagements, actively shape APAC market positioning and new product rollouts, and operate as the definitive technical voice for our APAC customers while filling internal enablement gaps.
What makes you thrive here
You have:
7 or more years of relevant experience in Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Technical Consulting, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
Meaningful experience operating across the entire customer lifecycle (pre-sales and post-sales) rather than exclusively being a pre-sales SE or post-sales technical resource.
Significant experience personally supporting large, technically complex enterprise organizations and investigating technical problems directly (logs, headers, API responses, permissions).
Strong experience designing and implementing technical integrations in complex environments (APIs, automation workflows, authentication, data flows).
Foundational knowledge of how mail flows within M365, on-premises Exchange, and Google Workspace environments—you don't need to be a seasoned admin, but you need to understand how these systems work well enough to troubleshoot deliverability and integration issues with customers.
Working knowledge of SIEM/SOAR ecosystems and an ability to understand how security platforms fit into a customer's broader IT architecture.
A "hacker mindset"—you can investigate and solve problems independently without a full playbook, document your solutions clearly, and know when to pull in the global team.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for a CISO or business leader.
Comfort operating in a startup or scale-up environment where regional processes are still being built
This role is based in Singapore. and applicants must already have the right to work in Singapore.
Bonus points if you also:
Bring experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, XSOAR, or comparable platforms.
Have foundational knowledge of Identity and Access Management (Entra ID, Okta, SailPoint, SSO, SCIM) and GraphQL.
Bring a background in cybersecurity SaaS, security operations workflows, or human risk management.
Speak Mandarin or Malay in addition to English
Who you'll work with
You will be the first Solution Engineer on the ground in APAC, operating with high autonomy while collaborating seamlessly with a global organization. You will formally report to our Chief Customer Officer in Singapore with a dotted line to our Lead Solution Engineer in EMEA, and partner closely with the APAC sales team as well as Marketing, Customer Success, Product, Support, and Engineering. To set you up for success, you will spend your first few weeks onboarding at our Helsinki headquarters before our Lead Solution Engineer travels to Singapore to support you in person.
