Business Analyst - Payments / PSP Integrations (all genders)
ABOUT YOU · Mid-Senior Level
Company Description
SCAYLE is one of the fastest-growing enterprise commerce platforms in the world, enabling brands and retailers to realize their D2C ambitions. SCAYLE stands for innovation, international collaboration, and a strong focus on data. We believe that stepping outside of our comfort zone and making bold decisions is key to growing both professionally and personally. Instead of seeing problems as obstacles, we approach them as opportunities to find better solutions. We work in an environment that encourages flexibility, creativity, and continuous development. What drives us is the shared motivation to make an impact and actively shape the future of eCommerce.
Job Description
- Own the requirement phase for new PSP and payment method integrations by driving topics from initial tenant request to clear, testable specifications
- Analyse PSP API documentation, payment flows, and webhook behavior, mapping them onto SCAYLE's checkout and order lifecycle across authorization, capture, refund, cancellation, partial flows, and status transitions
- Write and maintain functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira (NCO) and Confluence, proactively accounting for edge cases such as failed captures, delayed webhooks, mixed baskets, and partial shipments
- Model payment state machines and status mappings between PSPs and SCAYLE (e.g., pending vs. paid, instant capture vs. capture on shipment) to establish and document clear system rules
- Analyse regulatory and scheme requirements (PSD2/SCA, 3DS2, PCI DSS scope, tokenization/stored cards) and translate them into actionable product requirements
- Partner closely with engineering throughout implementation to clarify requirements, review test cases, debug via API docs and logs, and validate that live delivery matches specifications
- Serve as the primary interface between the Payments team, PSP technical/account contacts, and internal business stakeholders, translating complex payment flows and driving open questions to clear decisions
- Drive quick-turn analysis and resolution during live payment issues, maintaining structure and system visibility under pressure
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Requirements Engineer, or Technical Product Owner within e-commerce, fintech, or payments
- Solid understanding of online payment flows, including authorization, capture, refunds, chargebacks, tokenization, recurring/stored payments, and the roles of PSPs, acquirers, card schemes, and digital wallets
- Hands-on experience with PSP integrations alongside strong proficiency in reading REST API documentation, webhook specs, and sequence diagrams
- Working knowledge of payment regulations and standards, specifically PSD2/SCA, 3DS2, and PCI DSS implications for checkout architectures
- Proven track record writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications within agile environments using Jira and Confluence
- Analytical ability to structure complex, cross-system topics and translate them into clear, actionable alignment for both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Pragmatic, hands-on mindset with a focus on problem-solving, taking ownership of ambiguous edge cases, and delivering practical solutions in fast-paced environments
- Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken), capable of facilitating technical discussions, driving stakeholder consensus, and managing PSP partner relationships seamlessly
