Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components, ensuring innovative, efficient, and reliable solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards. In this role, you will impact the success of complex engineering projects by providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality mechanical designs that drive Honeywell’s competitive advantage.

The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer owns the design of integrated gas skid and station solutions that support safe, reliable fuel-gas supply for mission-critical data center gas power infrastructure. Fuel gas skids and station solutions include fuel gas conditioning skids, gas flow metering skids, pressure regulation and monitoring skids and gas composition analysis stations. This role delivers safe, reliable, constructible, and cost-effective designs for large projects. Delivering complete and accurate design packages on schedule while ensuring compliance with customer, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; minimizing design-related rework during fabrication, installation, and commissioning; effectively managing technical risk, scope, cost, schedule, and interfaces; achieving successful factory and site acceptance with reliable system performance; and driving continuous improvements through standardization, design reuse, and enhanced engineering.

Success in this role is demonstrated through delivering complete and accurate work on schedule while ensuring compliance with customer, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements and minimizing rework while effectively managing technical risk, scope, cost, schedule, and interfaces and driving continuous improvements through standardization, design reuse, and enhanced engineering efficiency.

You will report directly to our General Manager, and you’ll work out of our Houston, TX location on a Hybrid work schedule. Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday – Friday.
