Mechanical Design Engineer

What you will learn and contribute to
- Participate in the design and development of complex mechanical designs - product architecture, detailed specification definition for complex systems, technology (component) selection and the application of design tools/methods
- Develop designs (piece parts and complex assemblies) with guidance and direction (sheet metal, plastic, extrusions and cast parts including fabrication techniques, tolerance and analyses)
- Interface with supply chain and procurement with a focus on sheet metal, plastic and cast designs, cabling, and manufacturability
- Responsible for planning and execution of prototype builds for R&D consumption
- Provides sizing and estimates of work and review of product development schedules
- Decision making to deliver on goals with supervision.
- Work is carried out in an office and clean lab environment, with limited to no exposure to disagreeable elements
