Use your skills to perform a variety of routine accounting duties in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do
- Post routine journal vouchers or accounts payable vouchers, entering vouchers in registers, post subsidiary ledgers or simple cost accounting data.
- Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data.
- Process payments for detainees involved in detainee work program (DWP).
- Process detainee money obtained at intake and release. Process detainee funds deposits sent through money order or other means.
- Responsible for maintenance of routine accounting records and reports in accordance with established procedures such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory control or general accounting records.
- Assist with payroll as applicable.
- Responsible for petty cash.
- Perform miscellaneous clerical duties involving typing, filing, accumulating data and preparation of repetitive reports.
- Requires long periods of sitting and some walking.
- Incumbents are required to work overtime when directed to do so.
- Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.
What you will need
- High school diploma or GED
- Academic training in bookkeeping, accounting and experience with automated accounting systems or programs highly desired
- One year of varied and responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience
- US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident is required
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
- Must successfully complete required preservice training post-hire
