Substance Abuse Counselor – Make an Impact in Recovery
Pyramid Healthcare is hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor in Asheville, NC to provide clinical services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
This is a full-time day-shift position for a counselor who enjoys providing direct clinical care, building strong therapeutic relationships, and working as part of a collaborative treatment team.

What You'll Do

Provide individual, group, and family counseling

Complete clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

Provide substance use education, recovery support, and relapse prevention

Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed

Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EHR
-
Participate in treatment team meetings and coordinate client care

Support aftercare planning and discharge planning

Communicate with referral sources, families, and other providers as appropriate

Assist with crisis intervention and level-of-care assessments

Maintain compliance with clinical, regulatory, and accreditation standards
What You'll Need
Required Licensure
One of the following is required:

Education

Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred

Bachelor's, Associate's, or high school diploma may be considered based on applicable CADC/CADC-I credentials and experience
Experience & Skills

Experience working with substance use disorders preferred

Experience with co-occurring mental health disorders or trauma-informed care preferred

Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
