Position: Dietary Aide
Employment Type: Part-Time

East Bay Post Acute is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Dietary Aide to join our team on a Part-Time basis.
The Dietary Aide plays an important role in supporting our dietary department and ensuring residents receive nutritious, appealing, and timely meals in a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate is a team player who takes pride in providing excellent service to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food service according to established menus and dietary requirements
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages to residents
- Deliver meals to resident rooms and dining areas as needed
- Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals
- Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, and food service equipment
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection-control procedures
- Follow residents' specific diets and meal requirements
- Assist with portioning and plating meals
- Stock and organize food, supplies, and kitchen items
- Monitor food temperatures and follow food safety guidelines
- Report resident concerns, dietary issues, or changes in appetite to the appropriate staff
- Follow all facility policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with residents, families, and staff
- Perform other dietary duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous dietary, food service, or healthcare experience preferred
- Skilled nursing or healthcare dietary experience is a plus
- Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices preferred
- Dependable, punctual, and reliable
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate professionally with residents and staff
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical duties associated with food service
- Commitment to providing courteous and respectful service to residents
