About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Manager/Senior Manager, People & Talent, to lead our recruiting and keep day-to-day people operations running smoothly. Recruiting is the core of this role: you will own our hiring process from intake through offer and help us bring on great people as we grow. You will also run onboarding and serve as the go-to resource for employee questions and HR issues.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys doing the work directly. You will partner closely with leaders and hiring managers across the company, who continue to own their teams and hiring decisions.
Is This Role for You?
You have done recruiting and HR at startups or growth-stage companies, ideally in B2B technology, and you know how to hire quickly without lowering the bar. You are comfortable being the person employees and managers turn to with questions, and you handle sensitive matters with discretion and good judgment. You like building simple processes that work, and you keep them working while juggling several open searches at once.
What You'll Do
- Own recruiting from intake through offer. This is your primary focus. Partner with hiring managers to define roles and evaluation criteria, write job descriptions, source and screen candidates, run a structured interview process, and manage offers. Track pipeline progress and hiring outcomes.
- Build our talent pipeline. Use referrals, LinkedIn, job boards, and direct outreach to reach strong candidates, including those not actively looking. Make sure every candidate has a professional, responsive experience with Giftogram.
- Run onboarding. Deliver a consistent experience that covers paperwork, tools, company context, role expectations, and early milestones. Check in with new hires and improve the process based on what you learn.
- Handle day-to-day HR issues. Be the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns. Help managers work through conflicts, performance concerns, and separations with sound judgment, discretion, and appropriate documentation. Know when to bring in leadership, counsel, or outside partners.
- Keep people operations in order. Maintain accurate employee records, policies, and the employee handbook. Coordinate with our external partners on benefits, payroll, and employment compliance.
- Support performance management. As a secondary responsibility, help run a simple feedback and review cycle and give managers practical tools to set expectations and follow through.
What We're Looking For
- 4 to 8 years of recruiting and HR experience, including meaningful time as a hands-on recruiter.
- Experience at startups or growth-stage companies, preferably in technology and preferably in B2B.
- A track record of filling roles across different functions, such as sales, customer success, engineering, marketing, operations, and finance, alongside managers who own the hiring decision.
- Strong sourcing skills and comfort working in an applicant tracking system and HRIS.
- Sound judgment in employee relations, with the ability to combine care, candor, consistency, and confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of employment policies, documentation, and compliance basics, including the judgment to involve legal or specialist support when needed.
- Strong organization and follow-through. You can manage several open searches while handling the day-to-day needs of a small company.
- Nice to have: experience supporting performance review cycles or manager feedback programs.

- Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 including base and bonus
