Director of Sales & Marketing

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the hotel’s sales and marketing strategy, drive revenue growth and strengthen the hotel’s positioning within the Penang market.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute the hotel’s overall sales and marketing strategy in line with business objectives and IHG brand direction.
Develop annual sales and marketing plans, budgets, forecasts and commercial action plans.
Drive revenue across key market segments including Corporate, MICE, Groups, Leisure and Events.
Lead, coach and develop the Sales & Marketing team to achieve individual and hotel revenue targets.
Identify new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with key accounts, corporate clients and business partners.
Work closely with Revenue Management and other Commercial functions to optimise pricing, market segmentation and revenue opportunities.
Monitor market trends, competitor performance and business intelligence to identify risks and opportunities.
Oversee marketing, digital, communications and promotional activities to strengthen hotel visibility and brand positioning.
Represent the hotel at key client engagements, networking events, trade shows and industry activities.
Collaborate closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team in developing and delivering the hotel’s overall business strategy.
Ensure sales activities, account management, reporting and commercial processes comply with IHG standards and hotel requirements.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Strong leadership experience in hotel Sales & Marketing, preferably within an international hotel brand.
Proven track record in driving revenue, developing key accounts and leading high-performing commercial teams.
Strong understanding of the Penang and Northern Region business, corporate and MICE markets would be an advantage.
Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and analytical capability.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to build effective relationships with owners, corporate clients, business partners and internal stakeholders.

Lead the hotel’s Sales & Marketing function by developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue, grow market share, strengthen key client relationships and enhance the positioning of Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City.
