Inside Sales Specialist

Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for supporting Tec D Malaysia / Datech Autodesk sales growth by achieving monthly and quarterly sales and margin targets, managing customer engagement, generating new business opportunities, and ensuring accurate quotation and CRM management. This role works closely with Field Sales Executives, Business Development Managers, customers, partners, and internal teams to build pipeline, support account development, and deliver a high-quality customer experience through proactive selling, timely follow-up, and strong commercial discipline.

Key focus area:

Sales Target Achievement: Drive assigned monthly and quarterly sales revenue and margin targets through proactive customer engagement and disciplined follow-up.
Customer Engagement: Build strong customer relationships through inbound and outbound selling, accurate information sharing, and responsive service.
Pipeline and Quotation Management: Generate, manage, and own a pipeline of opportunities while preparing timely and accurate quotations via internal or external sources.
CRM and Sales Operations Discipline: Maintain accurate CRM records, manage backorder expectations, and support customer service levels and KPI attainment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Sales Execution & Target Achievement

Drive monthly and quarterly sales revenue and margin targets in line with assigned business objectives.
Plan and execute outbound calls to customers to generate new business opportunities and identify potential sales needs.
Perform active inbound selling by responding to customer enquiries, qualifying requirements, and converting opportunities into quotations or sales.
Generate, manage, and own a pipeline of deals, ensuring opportunities are tracked, followed up, and progressed in a timely manner.
Attain agreed Key Performance Indicators such as daily talk time, outbound calls, renewal rates, switch rates, pipeline creation, quotation turnaround time, and sales conversion.

2. Customer Relationship & Account Support

Build excellent customer relationships through proactive engagement and demonstrable specialist product knowledge.
Develop relationships with key internal and external contacts, including customers, partners, Field Sales Executives, Business Development Managers, Account Managers, sales operations, and vendor stakeholders.
Develop and execute account plans to maintain and grow the customer base, in conjunction with a Field Sales Executive or Business Development Manager.
Ensure Service Level Agreements with customers are satisfactory by responding within agreed timelines, following up consistently, and escalating issues when required.

3. Quotation, Pricing & Order Support

Build accurate and timely quotations for customers in line with approved pricing, promotions, and commercial guidelines.
Provide, sell, and negotiate product information, pricing, special offers, and promotions to support customer decision-making.
Coordinate with internal teams to support smooth quotation, order entry, fulfilment, and issue resolution processes.
Manage backorder expectations and reporting for customers with regular updates and clear communication.

4. CRM, Reporting & Administration

Maintain and provide accurate customer, opportunity, quotation, and activity information in the Customer Relationship Management system.
Track customer follow-ups, pipeline movement, quotation status, and sales conversion to support forecasting and business reviews.
Provide accurate updates to internal stakeholders on customer requirements, pending actions, and commercial status.
Adhere to Tec D / Datech sales processes, compliance requirements, and internal operating procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

Good understanding of sales processes, customer engagement cycles, quotation workflow, and follow-up discipline.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Co-Pilot, Gemini, Ghat-GPT, CRM tools, and IT systems for quotation, order entry, and customer relationship management.
Knowledge of relevant products, software, cloud solutions, or technology distribution would be desirable but not essential.
IT industry knowledge, channel sales exposure, or reseller engagement experience would be desirable but not essential.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple customer requests, deadlines, and sales opportunities concurrently.
Results-oriented, proactive, and accountable for achieving sales activity and business outcome targets.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with customers, partners, and internal teams.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain customer confidence through responsiveness and reliability.
Comfortable working with numbers, pricing, margins, discounts, and quotation accuracy.
Meticulous, organized, and attentive to detail, especially in commercial documentation, CRM updates, and customer follow-up.

Experience:

Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in inside sales, sales support, customer service, quotation management, order entry, or customer relationship management.
Experience using IT systems for quotation preparation, order entry, pipeline tracking, customer records, and sales activity management is preferred.
Prior experience in technology distribution, software sales, vendor sales support, or channel sales environment would be an added advantage.

Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Information Technology, Sales, or a related discipline.
Relevant sales, customer service, or technology industry experience may be considered in place of formal academic qualifications.
Sales, product, vendor, or CRM-related certifications would be an added advantage.
