Stantec is currently looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Energy & Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and interest in the field of structural engineering. This position applies knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields, with specific emphasis on dams and hydraulic structures. The candidate will have the opportunity to lead structural design tasks, work with multidisciplinary teams, and interface for the analysis, design, and evaluation of unique and complex structures.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams in a virtual team environment as well as in an office environment.
- Lead structural design tasks and projects.
- Mentor junior staff and assist in their professional development.
- Oversee development of preliminary and detailed civil/structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and hydraulic structures.
- Oversee preparation of studies, design criteria, design reports, plans and specifications, and review of related designs and construction plans, and support of construction. Delivering client presentations.
- Inspect construction for compliance with specifications, review and approve drawings, conduct field inspections, and review progress versus schedule.
- Working with clients to identify project goals and priorities and providing strategies and approaches to achieve those objectives.
- Develop or assist in development of budgets, scopes of work, and project plans.
- Assist in project administration and management including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, and completing progress reports.
- Work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following company health and safety guidelines and policies.
