Teacher Assistant I -Daycare 2

Monday - Friday, variable day shifts available between the hours of 6:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Full Time | $16.35/hr.
Weekends and holidays off
Location: Durant Child Development Center I & II.
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with the implementation of the educational program. You will report to the Center Manager.
Primary Tasks:
- Monitor the safety and behavior of children in classroom, on the bus, and while on the playground.
- Assist in setting up the environment (indoor/outdoor for the activities of the day.
- Assist in teaching based on children’s individual developmental needs.
- Observe and record behaviors of children to assist the teacher in the identification of each child’s strengths and growth areas.
- Attend parent meetings, home visits, parent/teacher conferences as needed.
- Assist children during meals.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Knowledge and ability to work with appropriate software application
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good childcare and decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to lead people, be honest, trustworthy, and dependable
- Must have multitasking ability, self-motivated, team player, adaptable, and time management skills
