About the Role
Grey Barn is hiring commercial landscaping salespeople to help us grow our maintenance, enhancement, and install business across Northwest Arkansas.
Our ideal customers include property managers, facility managers, commercial property owners, multifamily communities, HOAs and POAs, retail centers, office properties, industrial properties, schools, churches, and institutions, and general contractors and commercial project decision-makers.
Compensation
This role includes a base salary of $60,000/year plus uncapped commission.
Commission is based on gross profit, not just revenue. That means bigger, more profitable work pays more.
You can earn commission on:
- New commercial maintenance contracts
- Maintenance renewals
- Enhancement and install projects
- Cross-sell opportunities between maintenance and enhancement/install teams
Commission is paid after the customer pays and the work meets margin standards. Strong performers should have a realistic path to $100,000+ in total annual compensation.
What You Will Do
- Prospect and build relationships with commercial property decision-makers
- Walk commercial properties and identify maintenance or project opportunities
- Build scopes, estimates, and proposals
- Sell recurring maintenance contracts and/or enhancement/install work
- Protect gross profit by selling properly scoped work
- Follow up consistently until the customer makes a decision
- Keep the CRM accurate and current
- Coordinate clean handoffs to operations
What We Are Looking For
You need at least one of these two: direct green-industry experience (landscaping, grounds maintenance, landscape design, horticulture, nursery, irrigation, hardscape), or a track record selling commercial services to property managers, facility managers, HOAs, multifamily operators, or commercial property owners.
Also considered: strong B2B sales from an adjacent trade or commercial service, such as facility services, pest control, janitorial, HVAC, roofing, or construction, where you sold to the same kind of decision maker.
Selling to homeowners does not transfer here.
Requirements
- Proven sales ability and/or direct landscaping industry knowledge
- Ability to sell to commercial decision-makers
- Comfortable prospecting and building your own pipeline
- Comfortable walking properties and discussing scope, pricing, and customer needs
- Strong follow-up and communication skills
- CRM discipline
- Reliable transportation to travel throughout Northwest Arkansas
- Comfortable with a base-plus-commission compensation structure
