Product Specialist - Consumer

We're looking for a motivated Product Specialist to join our Consumer Portfolio team in Auckland and play an important role in supporting the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of our consumer insurance products.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with insurance product experience who enjoys working across a variety of stakeholders, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping ensure our products remain competitive, compliant and aligned to customer needs.
What you'll be doing
As Product Specialist, you'll support the ongoing management and enhancement of our Consumer product portfolio, helping deliver positive customer and business outcomes.
You'll:
- Support the development, enhancement and lifecycle management of consumer insurance products.
- Assist with product and policy reviews to ensure products remain relevant, competitive and compliant.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and regulatory developments, providing insights and recommendations to support product improvements.
- Contribute to the maintenance of product documentation, technical specifications, underwriting guides and training materials.
- Support the development of systems, tools and processes that improve product management and operational efficiency.
- Partner with stakeholders across underwriting, claims, legal, risk, compliance, distribution and operations to deliver great product outcomes.
- Assist Product Managers and the Manager, Underwriting Solutions in executing product strategy, governance activities and portfolio initiatives.
- Contribute to product, compliance and systems training across the business.
What you'll bring
We're looking for a collaborative and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working across multiple priorities and contributing to meaningful business outcomes.
- Experience in product development, product management or a related role within general insurance.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, regulatory requirements and market dynamics.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- A customer-focused mindset supported by sound commercial judgement.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or a related discipline and/or insurance qualifications will be highly regarded.
