The HQ Network team is responsible for the design, implementation, lifecycle management, and operational support of Edward Jones' critical network infrastructure. Our team provides highly available, high-performing network services that support clients, Financial Advisors, and home office personnel across campus, data center, and hybrid cloud environments.We are seeking an experienced Engineer who can provide technical leadership, drive platform modernization efforts, and contribute to the stability, scalability, and automation of our network backbone infrastructure.
What You'll Do:
- Design, evaluate, test, and implement solutions across the team's core technology platforms, including Cisco Nexus, VMware NSX, AVI Load Balancing, F5 GSLB/LTM, and Infoblox DDI.
- Lead major infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives.
- Ensure network services meet operational requirements for availability, scalability, performance, security, monitoring, automation, and supportability.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and standardize infrastructure management.
- Partner with architecture, engineering, security, and operations teams to develop resilient and scalable network solutions.
- Troubleshoot and lead resolution efforts for complex network and application delivery issues.
- Serve as a technical escalation point for critical incidents and platform-related challenges.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architectural standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across network infrastructure initiatives.
- Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new technologies, address operational issues, and influence product roadmaps where applicable.
- Provide recommendations to leadership regarding technology strategy, platform lifecycle planning, and operational improvements.
