As the Manager of the Automation Department, your primary purpose is to drive sales growth and market
penetration by managing the entire order process, from initial client engagement to final product
delivery and installation. You will leverage your technical expertise and market insights to conduct
thorough market analysis, identify potential clients, and build strong, lasting relationships. By
collaborating closely with clients and technical teams, you will ensure the delivery of tailored
automation solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations. Your role will also involve
preparing detailed presentations, addressing client constraints, and reviewing tender documents to
secure successful project bids. Ultimately, you will contribute to the company’s success by providing
exceptional service, fostering client satisfaction, and achieving sales targets.
Main Duties:
Order Processing and Project Sales Calculation:
- Manage the entire order process, from receiving orders to ensuring accurate project sales calculations.
- Coordinate the delivery or installation of products, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
Sales Activities and Market Analysis:
- Conduct various sales activities to promote products and services.
- Perform market analysis and prepare detailed reports to identify trends and opportunity
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
- Identify potential clients within the industry and plan regular visits to engage with them.
Client Presentations:
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, detailing product specifications and services offered
Client and Technical Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with clients and the technical team to determine the most suitable products or systems to meet client needs.
- Address any special requirements or constraints clients may have, with the support of the technical team
Cost Inquiries and Procurement:
- Work closely with procurement and system engineers to handle cost inquiries and ensure competitive pricing.
Tender Document Review:
- Review tender documents, focusing on both technical and commercial aspects during the tendering and sales processes.
Personal Requirements & Attributes
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Instrumentation & Control or Automation Engineering.
Pre-requisite: Malaysian Citizen
Experience:Minimum 10 years of experience in the relevant field
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CAD, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Fluent in English and Malay, both spoken and written.
- Able to work independently.
- Knowledge of ISO & OHSAS will be considered an advantage.
- Understanding of product and market pricing.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborating effectively with colleagues from different departments to achieve common goals
- Persuasion and negotiation skills
- Experience in Electric Power Plants and Automation is a plus.
- Highly organized, with excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Having a good network to stay up to date with industry trends and common problems and solutions
- Willing to travel within Malaysia and overseas.
