Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant I - Rheumatology

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Rheumatology provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with autoimmune and inflammatory disorders in an outpatient setting. This role functions in close collaboration with rheumatologists while also managing a panel of patients daily and independently.
- The APP plays a key role in improving access, optimizing chronic disease management, and delivering comprehensive care across the patient journey. This role is currently practicing in the outpatient setting only.
- -Obtaining patient history
- -Performing physical examinations
- -Ordering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- -Formulating a diagnostic impression
- -Developing and implementing a treatment plan
- -Monitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- -Offering counseling and education to meet patient needs
- -Making appropriate referrals
- -Prescribing and dispensing prescription medication
- -Assisting in surgery
- -Performing minor procedures and surgical procedures
- -Demonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.
