Schedule: Flexible to work various shifts (5:45am-2:15pm, 7:45am- 4:00pm, 12:30pm-9:00pm)
Pay: $22 - $26 per hour, depending on experience, including a $5,000 SIGN-ON BONUS

Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our upscale culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about exceptional cuisine, elevated service, and creating memorable dining experiences.
Unlike a traditional senior living kitchen, The Cypress offers a unique resort-style and country club-inspired dining environment where culinary excellence is at the forefront of the resident and guest experience. This position is ideal for a culinary professional with the passion, creativity, and drive to excel in a fast-paced fine dining setting while building a rewarding long-term career.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading daily kitchen operations and supervising culinary team members.
- Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Ensure all menu items meet established standards for quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Support menu development, food costing, purchasing, inventory management, and production planning.
- Coordinate catered events, special functions, and daily service execution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment that meets or exceeds health department standards.
- Monitor operational performance, communicate issues and improvement opportunities to leadership, and support continuous process enhancement.
- Foster a positive team culture through effective leadership, collaboration, and staff development.
- Promote exceptional resident and guest satisfaction through outstanding hospitality and culinary excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Two to three years’ experience in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred.
- Two to three years' experience in a supervisory role.
- Culinary education is highly desirable.
- Must be ServSafe® Certified.
- Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English.
