As a Business Systems Analyst within our global Commercialization Technology team, this role will help evolve Commercialization portfolio decision intelligence and governance operations capabilities. Come join a team that is passionate about innovation and making life better with technology!

This position will work closely with Product Owners, Product Managers, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions. The successful candidate will help shape product requirements and processes, evaluate technology and data capabilities, and support the delivery of solutions across our evolving technology landscape. This role will also contribute to the adoption of AI and emerging technologies, data visualization and analytics, and effective data management practices while helping ensure that solutions meet business, security, and operational needs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Product Owners and System Architects to manage business analysis activities, ensuring alignment with business and product goals
• Understand customer needs to shape business processes and product requirements
• Work with Product Managers and customers to define scope and value for new developments
• Collaborate with Business SMEs and Product Management to prioritize release scopes and refine the Product backlog
• Ensure non-functional requirements are included and prioritized in the Product and Release Backlogs
• Facilitate the breakdown of Epics into Features and Sprint-Sized User Stories and participate in backlog reviews with the product team
• Clearly express features in User Stories/requirements so all team members and stakeholders understand how they fit into the product backlog
• Ensure Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done are well-defined and understood
• Stay focused on software development to ensure it meets requirements, providing proactive feedback to stakeholders
• Develop and execute effective product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and changes

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 to 9 years of information systems experience as a business analyst
• Demonstrated experience serving as an information systems business analyst supporting enterprise software or data solutions
• Ability to independently deliver moderately complex technical assignments while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team
• Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies, platforms, and business processes
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a software development environment

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills

• Experience with writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA
• Hands on experience with project management and business analysis concepts
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies and ability to drive projects using Agile methodology

• Experience evaluating technology solutions and platforms, assessing capabilities, risks, integration considerations, and alignment to business needs
• Experience identifying and evaluating opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to improve business processes, decision-making, or user experiences
• Experience with data visualization and analytics solutions, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights for business stakeholders
• Working knowledge of data management concepts, including data quality, governance, integration, lineage, and lifecycle management

• Experience providing support to IT system users, including troubleshooting production issues, providing training, and participating in incident response
• Working knowledge of application security concepts, including authentication, authorization, and access controls
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies
• Ability to create clear technical documentation, including designs, diagrams, configuration instructions, and operational support procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders and collaborate across global, virtual, and cross-functional teams

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience serving as a business analyst supporting enterprise-grade software to production within a global, highly regulated, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment
• Experience with stakeholder management, ensuring seamless coordination across teams and driving the successful delivery of technical projects
• Experience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps
• Experience with data visualization in PowerBI, Tableau, etc
• Able to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business terms
• Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodology. Experience with Jira Align is a plus
• Experience supporting applications or business stakeholders with technologies such as Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks, AWS, or GitLab
• Familiarity with secure software development and delivery management practices
• Working understanding of business operations in one or more of the following Drug Development Life Cycle areas: Research and Development, Commercialization, Operations, Process Development, Commercial, or Marketing
• Experience working with geographically distributed development teams, vendors, business stakeholders, or managed-service providers
• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies, software development, data engineering, DevOps, cybersecurity, Agile, or enterprise platforms

Professional Certifications:

• Agile (preferred): SAFe for Teams certification or equivalent
• Project Management (preferred), for example: Project Management Professional, Certified Associate in Project Management, or equivalent
• Business Analysis (preferred), for example: PMI Professional in Business Analysis, Certification of Capability in Business Analysis, Certified Business Analysis Professional, or equivalent
