Purpose
Contribute to the overall success of the Business Risk Operations Center (BROC) for International Banking by ensuring the effective execution of individual goals, plans, and initiatives aligned with the team’s strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
The role holder will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the BROC operating model, including the design and application of methodologies and tools, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements and promoting long-term sustainability. The position also requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, providing ongoing support and maintaining active and effective communication.
Accountabilities :
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Promote active and effective communication with internal stakeholders, including risk, audit, and compliance teams.
- Ensure the sustainability of the operating model by aligning it with local regulatory requirements and international best practices.
- Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to enhance the efficiency of issue tracking and closure processes.
- Design and implement methodologies, tools, and processes to enable efficient lifecycle management of issues, from identification to closure.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring timely resolution of challenges and mitigation of root causes.
- Monitor and follow up on open findings and action plans, reviewing supporting evidence and escalating delays in accordance with defined protocols.
- Coordinate with Audit, Compliance, AML, SOX Office, and other key stakeholders to support BROC integration and ensure consistent application of controls, methodologies, and institutional standards.
- Support the development and implementation of operational risk metrics and indicators to monitor performance against country or district-level risk appetite.
- Share recommendations and best practices to ensure consistent application of key controls across the region.
- Support the distribution of BROC reporting materials, including KPI dashboards and committee packages.
- Promote a strong risk culture through ongoing training and active engagement with internal stakeholders.
- Leverage available tools to monitor and update issue status, centralize evidence, and provide feedback.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, systemic risks, and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Education / Experience / Other Information
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Engineering, Technology or a related field.
- An MBA, master’s degree or other relevant advanced qualification is considered an asset.
- Seven or more years of experience in financial services, with a strong background in risk management, internal controls, compliance, audit, technology risk or operational processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing risk programs, control assessments, issues, remediation plans or assurance activities.
- Proven experience leading regional, multidisciplinary or cross-functional teams.
- Experience implementing strategic initiatives and managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions.
- Experience with risk-based planning, control testing, root-cause analysis, issue management and executive reporting.
- Experience using data analytics to identify trends, risk concentrations, control gaps and opportunities for process improvement.
- Experience supporting change management, process transformation, automation or regionalization initiatives.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally based on business and stakeholder needs.

- Understanding of regulatory, Compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, SOX, operational risk, information security and conduct-risk requirements.
- Ability to identify emerging, repeat and systemic risks and communicate their implications clearly.
- Understanding of governance frameworks and regulatory environments across multiple jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of Audit and assurance principles sufficient to coordinate effectively with second- and third-line stakeholders.
Data, Technology and Analytical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide practical insights.
- Ability to design and use dashboards, scorecards, metrics and reports to support management oversight.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of data extraction, data quality, analytics and reporting principles.
- Familiarity with technologies and risks related to cybersecurity, information security, data protection, cloud environments, system changes and operational resilience.
- Experience with SQL, Python, automation tools or similar technologies is considered an asset, but is not mandatory.
- Ability to identify and translate automation opportunities into practical business requirements.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to communicate complex risk and control matters in clear, simple and executive-level language.
