We're looking for two Specialist Consultants to join our Business Claims team, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer outcomes across some of the most complex and sensitive claims in our portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to combine your claims expertise, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking to influence outcomes, support colleagues, and represent the business in dispute resolution forums.
What you'll be doing
As a Specialist Consultant, you'll take ownership of large and complex Business Claims, including escalated, disputed, and high-value matters requiring specialist expertise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex Business Claims across multiple product lines with a clear focus on delivering market leading claims service
- Effectively build the profile of the claims team across key stakeholders
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical capability across the claims team by providing coaching, guidance and mentorship
- Resolving escalated claims, complaints, and disputed matters.
- Representing the business in mediations, negotiations, and court proceedings.
- Developing effective claims strategies that drive positive customer and business outcomes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement and best-practice claims management across the Claims function.
What you'll bring
We're interested in hearing from experienced claims professionals with a proven track record managing complex commercial or business insurance claims.
While the immediate focus is resolving complex Business Claims, the role may also appeal to candidates with the potential and ambition to grow into future leadership opportunities.
You'll ideally have:
- Extensive commercial claims handling experience (approximately 10+ years).
- Strong experience managing high-value and complex claims.
- Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to navigate challenging conversations with confidence and professionalism.
- Experience coaching and developing others.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in Law or a relevant business discipline.
- Experience representing matters through formal dispute resolution processes, mediation, or court proceedings.
