Job Purpose

As an AVP, Software Engineer in Test, you will act as a Test Lead responsible for planning, preparing, coordinating, and executing testing activities for Core Banking solutions and their enterprise-level integrations.

The successful candidate will understand the testing strategy defined for the programme and translate it into robust test plans, scenarios, and test cases.

This role heavily emphasizes building advanced testing capabilities—including AI-powered test case generation, synthetic test data generation, and enterprise testing accelerators—to support continuous quality across our modern and legacy architecture.

Responsibilities

• Translate program-level testing strategies into actionable test plans, test scenarios, detailed test cases, and precise test data patterns.
• Coordinate and execute comprehensive functional and non-functional testing across Core Banking applications and integrated downstream/upstream systems.
• Prepare and maintain advanced testing toolsets, including AI-powered test case generation, test data generation, and prompt engineering frameworks to maximize test coverage and assertion accuracy.
• Identify suitable test cases for automation, continuously improve automation coverage, and design/maintain robust automated testing capabilities covering test execution, validation, and assertion.
• Execute end-to-end testing across APIs, User Interfaces (UI), file-based interfaces, messaging queues, and service mesh-based flows across the DBS application ecosystem.
• Track preparation work and execution progress rigorously. Contribute actively to test-cycle completion reports, quality dashboards, and automation metrics.
• Coordinate testing activities smoothly with Business Analysts, Developers, Platform Teams, application squads, and business users.
• Take full ownership and accountability for the quality, accuracy, and timely completion of assigned testing cycles.

Requirements

• Experience in software testing within the banking and financial services industry, with proven background in test leadership and hands-on test automation.
• Strong, foundational understanding of Core Banking systems, business processes, architecture, functionality, and data structures (specifically Deposits and Lending modules).
• Prior experience testing mainframe-based banking systems is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience in preparing structured test plans, test scenarios, detailed test cases, automated scripts, and traceability matrices.
• Hands-on experience with modern automation tools and frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Karate, Postman, or equivalent.
• Good working knowledge of AI-assisted software testing, automated test case/data generation, and prompt engineering to ensure comprehensive test coverage and precise validation.
• Experience working with service mesh architectures, microservices, distributed systems, and mainframe environments.
• Extensive experience testing enterprise application integrations, including APIs, relational databases, batch processing, and messaging queues.
• Strong programming or scripting capabilities in Java or a comparable modern language.
• Good working knowledge of SQL and test data validation techniques.
• Proficiency in using Jira or equivalent enterprise test-management and defect-tracking platforms.
• Solid grasp of Agile delivery principles, traditional SDLC methodologies, software quality standards, and defect-management processes.
