About the Role
UKG is seeking a Lead Revenue Accountant who will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely revenue recognition across UKG’s revenue offerings. This role partners closely with U.S.-based Finance, Accounting, and Systems teams and operates within an automated revenue accounting environment. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply ASC 606 principles to analyze complex SaaS and services contracts.
- Partner with upstream teams to maintain data integrity across Microsoft Dynamics 365, RevPro, and source systems.
- Execute weekly and monthly revenue accounting processes and controls, investigating and resolving issues.
- Prepare journal entries and perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end flux analysis and reporting using large data sets and tools such as Excel and Power BI.
- Collaborate with Technical Accounting and FP&A to resolve revenue-related inquiries.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Support external audits and SOX compliance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of corporate revenue accounting experience or 4+ years of public accounting experience with ASC 606 exposure.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large data sets.
- Experience working with large ERP general ledger systems.
- High attention to detail and strong ownership mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across global time zones, including U.S. stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, RevPro (Zuora), and Salesforce.
- Experience with Microsoft office PowerPoint and Power BI
