Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital represents Orlando Health’s continued commitment to the Seminole County community, which we have proudly served for 40 years. As a comprehensive acute care facility, the hospital offers a full scope of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, and women’s services with labor and delivery, alongside a future NICU. Opening with 124 beds, the 455,000 square foot hospital will be able to expand to up to 240 beds. Position Summary:
Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
- Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
- Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
- Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
- Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
- Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
- Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
- Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
- Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
- Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
- Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
- Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
- Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
- Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensures the safety of all customers.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Other Related Functions:

Qualifications
Education/Training:
- Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or
- Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Licensure/Certification:
- Maintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
- Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria:
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT); or * Valid Nuclear Medicine Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CNMT) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Certification (CT).
Experience:
- Mandatory minimum of two (2) years’ CT experience and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Advanced imaging experience and proficiency, including 3D Lab or IR imaging, or Cardiac imaging.
- Site proctor/preceptor for onboarding new hires and cross-training.
- Primary responsibility: Dual imaging roles, with current proficiency and routinely performing in secondary modality.
