Nursing Professional Development Practitioner - PRN

The Practitioner, Nursing Professional Development (NPD) serves as an educator, facilitator, and professional development resource for nursing staff across IU Health. This PRN position is primarily responsible for the delivery of system Core Classes and educational programs that support onboarding, professional growth, competency development, and excellence in patient care. Teaching experience is strongly preferred, as this role requires effective classroom instruction, learner engagement, and facilitation of adult learning principles.

This position is primarily based at IU Health West Hospital in Avon, Indiana, with a primary focus on supporting educational and onboarding needs for that facility. While the majority of scheduled assignments will occur at the IU North location, the practitioner may also provide occasional support to other regional facilities, including IU Health North Hospital, IU Health Fishers/Saxony Hospital, and IU Health Methodist Hospital (Downtown Indianapolis), as organizational and educational needs arise.

Using NPD practice judgment and expertise, the practitioner promotes professional role competence, lifelong learning, and workforce development in alignment with the IU Health Way. This role partners closely with nursing leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary stakeholders to support organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
