AG Consulting Partners is continuously building our consultant pipeline for current and future client engagements. This posting is a pipeline opportunity and is not tied to a specific open role.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to lead business continuity planning, system cutover activities, operational readiness, and project delivery efforts for complex enterprise Workday transformation initiatives. This individual will serve as the bridge between business partners, technology teams, vendors, and executive leadership, ensuring organizational preparedness and successful implementation of major system changes.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong business analysis foundation, exceptional project management skills, expertise in cutover planning and execution, and advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Smartsheet. This role requires a strategic thinker who can translate business requirements into actionable plans while effectively managing risks, dependencies, business partner communications, and operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Business Continuity & Operational Readiness
- Develop and maintain comprehensive business continuity and operational readiness plans.
- Identify potential business disruptions and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct business impact assessments and risk analyses.
- Coordinate continuity planning across business, operational, and technology teams.
- Facilitate contingency planning, disaster recovery readiness, and fallback procedures.
- Establish continuity metrics and monitor organizational readiness throughout project lifecycles.
Cutover Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed cutover strategies and implementation roadmaps for large-scale system deployments.
- Lead cutover planning workshops with business and technical stakeholders.
- Define and manage cutover checklists, runbooks, command center activities, and transition plans.
- Coordinate deployment sequencing, dependency management, and resource assignments.
- Monitor readiness criteria and execute go/no-go decision processes.
- Lead hypercare planning and post-implementation stabilization activities.
- Identify and manage implementation risks and escalation issues during deployment events.
Project Management (related to business continuity)
- Develop integrated project plans, schedules, status reports, and executive dashboards.
- Facilitate governance meetings, steering committees, and stakeholder reviews.
- Ensure alignment between project objectives and operational outcomes.
- Track key performance indicators and project success metrics.
- Proactively identify and resolve project issues affecting business continuity, cutover, and operational readiness.
Business Analysis
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements.
- Analyze current-state and future-state business processes.
- Ensure business needs are translated into actionable implementation plans.
Business Partner Relationship Management
- Build trusted relationships across executive, operational, and technical teams.
- Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and key milestones.
- Manage conflicting priorities and drive alignment among business partners.
- Prepare executive presentations and decision-support materials.
- Facilitate issue resolution across cross-functional teams.
Business Continuity and Cutover Reporting & Analytics
- Develop advanced project tracking and reporting solutions using Excel and/or Smartsheet.
- Create executive dashboards, KPI reporting, resource plans, and risk logs.
- Analyze project performance data and provide actionable recommendations.
- Maintain project documentation repositories and governance artifacts.
Requirements
You have:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
Experience
- 8+ years of project management, consulting, business analysis, or program delivery experience.
- 5+ years leading large-scale business transformation or enterprise system implementation projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing system cutovers and production deployments.
- Experience developing and executing business continuity or operational readiness plans.
- Experience facilitating executive-level governance and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex environments.
